The First United Methodist Church - Our Education Statement

This also means a community that actively researches and encourages the use of the best worship models, including a variety of musical expressions and art forms, conducive to active participation, freedom and fun. It finally means a place where children, youth and parents can be confident that counselors and teachers are gifted, committed and trained to do the Bible-based educational work God has called them to do."

We have a growing children's ministry at First United Methodist Church in Hooks. Sunday school classes are available for children ages 3 and up. Our preschool / kindergarten class is taught by Ms. Donna Gage. It meets in the "Polka Dot" room. Our Elementary class, taught by Ms. Sabrina Crump meets in the "Fishing" room.

A nursery is available during both Sunday school and church. It is open to children up to 36 months of age during Sunday school and up to 42 months of age during church. We have recently renovated and redecorated our nursery and children's area, so it is now beautiful. The nursery is located at the south end of the hallway behind the sanctuary.

The Women's Ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Hooks, Texas, would like to express our heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the many members and former members of our church, as well as our friends in the community, who gave so generously of their time and energy in sharing their favorite recipes with us. We have strived to have a broad variety of recipes from everyday practical cooking to the unusual with new methods that would be a challenge and fun to try. Without everyone's gracious help, this book would not be a reality. We hope that everyone will have as much fun using it as we have had in putting it together for you.
